Most puppies are not short of affection. They are short of structure.
The first months of a dog’s life are the months that matter most. The patterns being set right now, the associations being built, the responses being rewarded or ignored, will shape every interaction your dog has for the rest of their life. That is not an exaggeration. It is just how dogs develop.
The Lady’s K9 Academy Puppy Programme is a structured, cohort-based programme designed to give your puppy the foundations that make everything else easier. Not tricks. Not party pieces. The real work. The stuff that makes a dog genuinely easy to live with.
Markers and clear communication. Engagement and focus. Obedience foundations. Lead walking without the battle. Recall that actually works in the real world. Play and healthy arousal management. Enrichment and breed-specific games. Environmental training in both urban and rural settings.
By the end of the programme your puppy will have been trained in real environments, alongside other carefully selected dogs, by a qualified trainer who understands canine development from a behavioural science perspective. The foundations laid here are not just useful for now. They are the framework your dog will operate from for years.
Puppies in the programme intake together at a broadly similar developmental stage. This is intentional. It means the social sessions, the group walks, the environmental training, all happen with dogs who are at a comparable point in their learning. No dog is thrown into a situation they are not ready for. No dog holds back a group that has moved further along. Puppies who complete the programme are also cleared to join Lady's K9 Academy group walks, giving them ongoing supervised socialisation with safe, known dogs as they grow. That continuity of social experience is something most puppies never get, and it makes a significant difference.
We run small cohorts. Six new puppies per intake alongside the dogs already in the programme. Small numbers mean individual attention. They mean Gemma knows your puppy, not just their paperwork. The next intake opens before May. If you have a puppy and you want to secure a place, now is the time to get in touch.
